Hi everyone, this is my first time raising this breed of layers isa brown. I realized according to a weight chart i saw online they are extremely underweight. They're 8 weeks old now and only weigh on average 300-400 grams, some even less. They're supposed to be 630 grams! Can anyone tell me if this is normal or if they've experienced the same thing with the isa brown layers?

Aside from their weight, how are they doing otherwise? Are they eating, drinking and pooping normally? Do they seem active and inquisitive? What are you feeding them? Sorry for all of the questions, but more information will help folks to help you better. Photos always help, too!

They are extremely active, and constantly running around and flying around. I used to feed them a normal starter feed, but realized they didn't like it so I switched to an even finer starter feed that's pretty good quality. They definitely waste a lot of feed onto the ground which is something I'm trying to fix, need to modify the feeders. The feeders are hanging but they fly so high and can still did everything onto the floor. As far as I can tell, they do eat, drink, and poop. They look healthy, just small!

If they are acting healthy and their poop looks normal, they should catch up. You could always try adding some extra protein in the form of mealworms or other healthy snacks to help them grow a bit faster.
