Hello! I'm in search of one pullet (definently a pullet--ordinace rules!) around 8 weeks to a few months old that I can pick up within a couple of hours' drive from the QCA/DeWitt, IA, reasonably priced (under $40). I prefer a colored egg layer (EE, Olive Egger, Aucana, Ameraucana, etc...), Brahma, or Silkie, and a sweet temperament is a big plus.
We started our first backyard flock, which the kids and I dearly love, and bought what was supposed to be all little lady chicks, but as they got a little older, it became increasingly apparent that one was a little fellow. I had him DNA sexed to be sure, and yup. He is now being lovingly rehomed to my cousin and will have it good in his new happy, loving home in her care, but I would like to find someone new join our own little flock in his place, and would prefer someone asap who is within the age range listed. This gal will be VERY loved and doted on as a pet. We're new to chickens, but have been long time owners of other birds, and I assure you our little feathered friends are dearly loved and given happy, enriching lives, full of treats and love. I will be happy to come your way, within a couple of hours of the QCA or DeWitt, IA, and meet in a public spot to collect her. If you're a little further than that, I'm ears.
