issues with wet litter in my coop

Have you tried actually teaching them to roost? Going out every night after dark and, er, 'roosting' them? Then you could use a droppings board. Of course I dunno whether you care enough about it to make it worth the bother

Exactly whats happening here The coop itself isn't leaking I think this is all moisture generated by the chickens

The dh and I built this coop this fall and no the roof ain't leaking. I just keep dumping down shavings hoping it will dry up and it will for a few days then back to being wet. Its not like soaking wet just damp. I think I might just clean it out and start over. My coop has wood floors and is off the ground to. My other coop that is wood floors on the ground stays dry. Im just puzzled? I think I might need more ventilation, something more to do in the spring.

I have an issue with dampness, but I believe it's due to the location of my 12x20 shed. I noticed the slope of the neighbors yard up to mine and I'm thinking that even though my shed has pea gravel underneath and is raised a few inches over that, it seems to be way too damp inside the shed, like its sucking up moisture from underneath. And I don't think that raising the shed up on larger timbers is gonna make any difference! sheesh. kneedles to say, I'm not having a great time thinking about how to resolve this. Options are: move the shed, try to raise the shed, even tho it seems like a low spot ....ahhhhgggghghhh.

edit -
oh yeah, option: start all over and build a coop in a different spot arrrrggghgh
