It hatched, what do I do now so that he doesnt die?

I recently had my first hatched chick, and I don't know what I should do to keep him alive and well. Can anyone help me?
- I already saw him eat food
- I already saw him poop
- He looks sometimes active and sometimes very sleepy (In a span of 5 minutes)
- He doesnt drink unless I use a syringe

Not now, but I'm thinking of buying one today or tomorrow if I have no time today.

The chick needs a heat lamp or brooder plate. Baby chicks need a temp of around 99 degrees for the first week of their lives. If the chick gets chilled it could die.

Don't syringe him water. He's very young still and you could accidentally put it down the wrong tube. He will figure out how to use the water dish on his own.

I have some 3-4 weeks old chicks but they are with their mom with the rest of the flock (I bought the mom and the chicks) But hopefully I have 2 more chicks coming in the next few days

She may not eat and drink very well if she is chilly. She could die.

A heating pad may help if you have one that doesn't have an auto shut off.

A desk lamp with an old style (not LED) bulb could work in doors.

Make sure she can move under heat source and has a space to get away from heat if she gets too warm.

Hopefully i have 2 more chicks coming in a few days, im going to get a heating lamp today and im sure there will be enough space to move.
