My Dear Fellow Duck Families,
Now that it is almost Thanksgiving, I tend to get into a really ducky mood. I live alone (with my beloved Aussie Cattle Dog and my 3-ducks and 2-drakes), and this makes my feelings come out a lot! Since I am by myself so much, it helps me no end to have you all sharing your experience, faith, and hope.
Some of you have SO MUCH experience with ducks, I would trust anything you said to me. And seeing how many new people have obtained advice and direction, it makes me have the deepest feelings for y'all.
I am no expert, Lord knows. But I do listen and follow direction! My 3-hens and 2-drakes are in the best of health, and they appear to enjoy living in the duck house and run I made for them. Whenever I exit my garage door with a pail of water in one hand and a bucket full of Duck Raiser crumbles in the other, the entire group erupts into a noisy fracas. And I love it! I can't tell you what it is, but these five little souls (well, the Pekin drake is anything but little) have a way of nourishing my soul. Anything and everything I need to know about their health, feeding, and other well-being issues, I can find right in this forum, and you just don't know how grateful I am!!!
Thank you--and you know who you are--for the advice and support.
I'd like to wish you the most joyful season. God bless all of you.

Dear Mr. Gilbert,
I don't have ducks, but I have a soft spot in my heart for them and I loved reading about yours and the bond you have with them.
I have a tiny flock of happy chickens. They bring me unimaginable pleasure each day and I'm sure it compares to the happiness your 3 hens and 2 drakes give you.

I agree that the people on this site are indeed a blessing, sharing their knowledge, friendship, support and kindness at all hours of the day and night, asking nothing in return for their assistance.

I greatly appreciated reading your lovely public thanksgiving.
