It is built and they seem to love it so far.

So the coop and run are finished. We have 5 chickens that are just about 7 weeks old. Moved them to the coop at 6 weeks last Wednesday (fully feathered) and left them in it until Sunday afternoon when I finished the roof. Had to help them into the coop Sunday night as they didn't know to use the ramp. Monday night 4 of the 5 went up the ramp as it got dark. Had to help the last one. Happy they are learning that so quickly.

Anyway below are pics of the completed project. I do still plan on putting some more things in the run for them to "play" with. This has been a lot of fun and really looking forward to life with chickens.

We went with Koop Clean for inside the coop. Seems nice and while I am sure there are some cheaper ones cost will not be that much over time as I am sure it will last a while.

Run is 4 bags of wood chips (non treated or colored) at $3 a bag.

I do have gutters to put on the back so water does not flood the AC unit behind it.

I was not planning on doing that. I got the 12 gallon water container and plan on filling that weekly. It is WAY bigger than needed but if we travel it is less for our neighbors to deal with. We are in town and they have chickens as well. We will just be using the city water.

We had a rain barrel set up but not attached to a waterer. I thought we could use it as a water source in case of emergency. (hurricane power outage). We had issues with it but I am hoping to try again.
