with her "babies". So they can eat their appropriate "baby" food. The babies were hatched moms day(appx) and I have a creep feeder(well-thats its purpose anyhow!!!!) and Suzette(mom that hatched out these kids) has always stayed up later than a normal chicken doing her clucking to tell the kids where the food is. Granted the kids are a few weeks old now but Suzette STILL rises earlier than the main flock(main flock is in "chicken trance" still!) so young chix can have the higher protein food in creep feeders. Poor Suzette works so hard for these kids. The pic is 3 weeks old but the 10 kids she hatched out still follow her directions. Too adorable to me.

What a good mommy. It's really amazing to watch Hens take care of their babes. They really are great Moms. I watched one of mine recently teach her chicks how to catch flies. ( They're like little karate kid chicks now)

So the chickens will catch the flies? Cause suddenly since I got the chickens a week ago, there seems to be way more flies than when it was just the goats.

Eek.
