It's A Bantam!!!! UPDATE - Pics of new babies!!!!

My first chick has arrived!!!

At 7:25 am this morning the first of 24 eggs has arrived, a little baby bantam orpington. I cant tell yet if it's black or blue, hmmm? I have four other bantam orps with tiny cracks in them, two of my lavender orps, both my buff orps and still waiting to see something from my buff rocks. Looks like it going to be a busy day. TODAY IS HATCH DAY - YEAH!!!!! I love the sound of new babies.

Well, I just checked the bator and I now have 13 more eggs with cracks and a couple of those are starting to zip a bit! I cant wait to see what all comes out, especially my lavender split orps, " It's like a box of chocolates, You never know what your gonna get!"

It's finally over and I have been blessed with 23 adorable new babies.

We set 25 total and 1 was not fertile and only 1 gave up right before lockdown. We ended up with 4 buff rocks, 2 LF orp mix (2 cross colors), 5 black bantam orps, 1 tiny blue bantam orp, 1 splash bantam orp, 8 split black orps and 2 beautiful lavenders - wooohooo!!!!!

This was our first hatch in our new Brinsea ECO 20 and it did a wonderful job. I have cleaned it up and it is warming as I type for the next batch, Can't wait to see what we get this go round..
