I have this chick who i picked up with one other, the other one didn't have this issue but it didn't survive 4 hours being home. Now the one I made this thread for, it has so far survived. It would drink, yet refused to eat, yesterday i finally got it eat by wetting the food, after the fact it would eat with the other chicks. But, the problem is, since i first got it Friday, it will occasionally, somewhat frequently open and close its beak for about a minute and then it would stop and start again sometime later. I keep hearing its a dehydration problem but this chick does drink pretty often. It is with 2 other chicks who came from someone else, these two chicks are perfectly fine. But the first 2 have had problems, one dead and the other refusing to eat at first and has let's see, breathing problems?

It might be sour crop. I don't know much about it but you should probably get that chick to the vet ASAP. Maybe continue feed wet food to the chicks and hope it's going to be okay.

Where I live, no vet takes chickens, so not sure how that'd work. It eats the dry food now, thankfully. It isn't crying as much as it used to, though it does have that gasping problem still.

Edit: Dont think its sour crop, this chick does run around, it isn't very lethargic. And no fluid from mouth or swollen crop is visible to me. It does hold its wing away from the body sometimes though.

If chicks open there wings it means it's too hot where they are. Use a digital temperature gauge to monitor the heat in the brooder.
