I was first introduced to chickens growing up on our family farm. A college experience and several moves later my husband and I finally bought an acre of land and I got to work building my very own coop with the aid of my father. I started with some D'uccle's and Japanese banties and I've now decided to expand into the realm of LF and collecting eggs and raising chickens for meat. I have my first ever batch of eggs going in my new incubator (BLRW and Brahmas) and I can't wait to meet my new little fuzzballs! (On second thought, raising chickens to butcher may be more difficult than I at first anticipated, lol.) I've been using BYC as a resource for the past few months and I'm happy to have finally made a profile and maybe get to meet some of you wonderful chicken people!
