It's official...scientific proof the Chicken came before the Egg

Hmmm.... ok, so now which came 1st, the chicken or the roo?

I'm not sure it's quite that simple. Other birds lay eggs - do they not have a similar mechanism for egg-shell creation? It could easily be that the chicken predecessor laid the first egg with the genetic makeup that allowed it to become an actual chicken - quite by accident - which would mean the egg came first.

Regardless, since hte genetic mutations that make chickens what they are today are manifested in the egg before they hatch into a chicken - doesn't that mean the egg came first?

My husband once gave a speech at a group he belongs to and he explained how he solved it. We had our first 12 chicks at that time in the coop and had been feeding them for months with no egg in sight so he explained undoubtly the chicken came first and the egg came many months after feeding and threatening them.
