Yes, you read right. It's snowing in Canada!

I haven't even bought a heated waterer!
Or a 2 mile long cord to reach my coop! (Okay, maybe only 100 feet, but same difference)

Sigh.

So... what low-power heating mat would you recommend for keeping my eggs from freezing? I have 40 laying hens, so I get eggs every time of the day.

Not sure which is worst .... Snow or hurricanes/rain & winds? Mother Nature is really putting us through a test with perseverance & "game plans". This Island got lucky, Olivia by passed us, alot still cleaning up after Hurricane Lane. Then the Carolinas have Florence to deal with :hit Prayers for all :fl

Where the heck are you guys? I’m in southern Manitoba and it was 22’C today !!!

Oh Alberta!! Yup in laws live in okatoks Alberta and they got snow , that’s a crazy weather province !!

We insulated our coop with foam board and hang a “ milking heater” from a chain , set to 0’C no eggs freezes and the water has a cookie tin heater under it!!

Be strong Canadians We know what’s coming next
