Sadly, about a week ago, my congenital ear defect got a flare-up again, and my job apprenticeship has not been going well, so I am going back to Vietnam to hone the skills there. The plan to go back to Vietnam was conceived before my ear flared up but it was only pushed into a real possibility because of our financial situation. Anyway the hospital bill was insane, I expected 50-200€ not more than 600€(so far, I still got more check up to do and not even checking anything else but just like, applying more disinfectant into my opened wound)
and not even checking anything else but just like, applying more disinfectant into my opened wound)
I planned to buy a treadle feeder(rodents and corvids problem), another waterer which holds more galon and of a different style(pail waterer) and a nest or two(those wall metal ones that eggs just roll down into a picker) but the hospital bills ate up my funds...
Now I prob going to focus on buying plane ticket back to Vietnam. I may could make it to a return in early-middle summer, but plans to hatch eggs in spring are canceled.
I was going to expand the run, buy all that I mentioned above, deworm and treat coccidiosis for the entire flock because I could’ve afford it but now...I’m not even sure my chickens would survive before I return. I’m prob going to be away for 2-3 months, could be more. I’m especially worried about the Wyandotte. I wish I had gone to a private clinic instead of the government hospital emergency but now I am robbed of an arm and a leg
Just going to pray everyone (the birds) survives while I’m gone. Everything goes downhill so fast, I am still a bit shellshocked tbh, but I wanted to write here in case anyone going to read this. Life is chaotic as heck.

that was points, not euro. Plans are not canceled!....maybe. I'm still going back to VN though, but at least I'm not several euro poorer?

the galvanized steel wall nest I wanted to buy increased it's price that exact day so I didn't bought it, but I think at least something to put my mind at ease with our current rodent problem is good enough. I'll still be away from the flock for several months, but I think a treadle feeder will help a lot? I believe they're heavy enough to not topple and food waste can be controlled.
