Sunday when I came home from church, to my horror, the temperature in my bator had risen to 103-104. I didn't know how long it was that way. I immediately opened the cover and let it cool down to 99 again. That was day 8 on the hatch schedule. Did I kill my chicks? Since then I have been able to keep it at a steady temperature. I know time will tell. But anybody have a similar experience?

Well i have never incubated eggs, but I would say not to give up on them....
They may surprise you!

Good Luck with your hatch!

No it shouldn't have my incubator went up to 109! lol and i hatched 4 out of 5 eggs. =]

I wish I could. The shells are so dark and I don't have a light that is bright enough.

I think most of us have had temp spikes from time to time. I surely wouldn't give up on your eggs just yet. Candle in a day or two. I've had temp spikes and still had successful hatches.
