Ok so... I recently just posted that I just joined byc ... And I had a new baby chick(with a pic ) ... However ... My wife went out this morning and found it dead ... We believe it was trampled by either our goats or one of our dogs ( 3 broody hens are laying with the eggs/chick ) ... Sad news but that's farm life ... Can't bring it back

Now... We moved the hens and the remainder eggs into the coop and locked them in... As they have never (and i literally mean never) been inside the coop until now ...

Is this a lost cause or is there still a chance for the remaining eggs ?

If you moved the nest than hens may not return to the eggs. Sometimes they do if they are confined with them. It's best to confine young chicks with the hen for the first week or two until they get strong enough to keep up and get out of the way. Sorry you lost one, it does happen unfortunately.
