Jacksonville florida- can we have chickens?

I cannot find any where on line that says yes or no to chickens in duval county florida. I really want chickens. Anyone know if it's a go?

Sadly most cities have adopted the Cookie cutter MUNI-CODE set of laws that are a generic set of legislation designed to make things easier for the City, not the people they were supposedly there to serve. There is good news though, as Lauren T. pushed to change the law and worked to get a new way of looking at things. Its a small article, but it shows that chickens are being re-introduced to the area. There are limits, and roosters are not allowed nor can you have more than 5 hens if your land area is less than 1.5 acres, but you can have them! It also give a phone number to call for more info.
