Janoel 24 going above set temps

Ive set the temprature to 37.5 deg/99.5 f, but it keeps going above, to around 39 Deg/102 f, and if left alone may even go to 40 deg/104 f And its really worrying.
I‘ve been taking the lid off to reduce the temperature every once in a while but am not around during the day so its hard to do so.
the ventilation hole thing at the top is open, and I’m wondering if it has something to do with the outside temperature? It’s around 34 deg/93.2 f.
Could it be some sort of malfunction, or a vent I don’t know of?

I know it's a small incubator but can you fit a full water bottle with a lid laying down in it? That can help with temperature fluctuations.
You could also try putting a towel under the incubator.
