Hi All,

I am going to buy a new egg incubator in time for spring. I was looking to buy the Janoel 48 automatic incubator on eBay and was wondering if it is any good. Is there any other incubators that are low cost and fit about 48 eggs. Does anyone have experiences with the janoel 48 and is it fan forced. Please help me!!!

use search this thread, above reviews have been done.

I've had one, fought with it for 16 mths ,poor hatch's -hot/cold spots, poor visibility at hatch -turner problems.

was a affordable choice i thought, proved to be an expensive purchase after losing lots of expensive eggs

saved up & bought a rcom - 99% hatch every time

hope that helps

Thanks heaps

I thing I will just buy a more expensive one which will save money I guess

Do a lot of reading about people's experiences with the different brands. You might decide to build your own. If you're not up for that, then the cheap styrofoam ones are good for occasional use, otherwise, pay a few hundred dollars more and get a really nice one. It will last you years, even if used all the time.

I have two of these Janoel 48 and have used them over and over for several years. I have only gotten 50-60% hatch rate though I thought that was pretty good as far as home incubators go. I had some family tragedy and then moving so I put them in storage for 9 years… got settled cleaned them and hatched two more batches at 50% rates again! So after 12 years now I’d say they’ve stood the test of time! Everything original still works!!! Turners, fans, heating elements , and digital readouts. I am trying a lower humidity for a “dry” hatch this batch to see if that ups my hatch rate to 70-90%. There’s lots of info on that on YouTube.
So for $160 bucks each I’d say I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth from these. They’re the real brand not the Chinese knock-off ones.
