Hello to you all. Very pleased about joining all you chicken enthusiast's. I have had chickens for the last 5 years. Do relatively good with them. Am quite pleased that I have been able to teach my 4 dog's( 2 of whom are still rather large puppies) from destroying my flock. I have lost, on average, two chickens per year over the last two years due to the heat here in the Scottsdale metropolitan area. I have devised a small cooling system that has really helped my birds. Will post it on site asap. Hoping to help my Backyard Chicken Family..

Thank you for your kind welcome. Really a bummer loosing my ladies but, we try to improve their existence as we go along.. Will continue to improve...

Welcome to BYC! Sorry for your losses. What kind of chickens do you have (I'm wondering if they are heat resistant breeds)?
