Okay, first batch of chickens, and they are Plymouth rocks 6 weeks old. One of my chicks is very affectionate and loves to be loved.:). Well, every time I give any other chick some attention I get my leg bit, not peck, but holding on until I stop it. Or, she will stare at me and brush up against my leg until I give her MORE attention. Has anyone had what seems to be a "jealous" chick?

btw I have been lightly correcting the chick by grabbing her beak and and pushing her away. If she doesn't bite me I try to give her attention as a reward. I am totally fallen in love with my girls, who knew!!! CHICKENS :p

Stories please lol

My most affectionate chick last year turned out to be the rooster. He was usually the first to jump over to my arm from the perch.

This one is definitely a girl, barred rock. I have gotten very lucky all my chicks are affectionate. I feel like the bird lady when I go in the run, they all jump on me I think it is a contest I swear. Sometimes I can't get chores done. My kids just laugh. :lau It feels great to be loved.:cd:love
