We have a chicken, an Araucana, that has claimed my husband as hers! This is the same chick that was sick awhile back or at least we thought was sick . . .she lost her pecking order during her few days in the house being watched like a hawk, but she is thriving now!
I had to share with you all this funny story about this bird, she is named Turkey . . .she is my 2 1/2 yr old daughters chicken but she loves my husband. I guess after babying her those few days she got attached!
Ok, on to the story. Two days ago we had 2 of them out of the coop, we don't free range much cause of all the predators, any way we were watching them and one few up on my DH's shoulder and Turkey didn't like that much and jumped on her to knock her off. Then today, DH and I had 5 of them wandering around whats left of my garden and he had a piece of corn in his hands that he was eating. Turkey kept looking up at him like "wheres mine dad". He croutched down and sure enough she jumped right on his arm and ate the corn off the cob and out of his hands. He wasn't even finished eating it yet! We laughed so hard. It was amazing!
