I recently got 23 jersey giant chicks two weeks ago today and i was wondering when they will be FULLY FEATHERED. they already have some feathers.

I have 15 coming by weeks end. From what I understand JG are slow growers. 8-10 weeks for feathers. And they take up to 6-8 months to start laying and typically don't reach full maturity till 2 years. Again I am new as well and I am basing this on my research of the Internet. As we all know everything on the net is 100% accurate. :D

I have some JG. They are about 6 months old now. I think they feathered out in the same time frame as others did. My roos didn't start crowing until 18 weeks. Some of my hens started laying about 2 weeks ago.

I have blues and splashes. I got mine from a local breeder. I lost several to predators, mostly a neighbor's dogs

Currently I have 2 roos and 8 hens. The hens are as big as my BO hens. The roos are huge. I'm hoping some may go broody. I do have 1 that stays in the nest for a good part of the day when laying so hopefully she'll go broody.
