Long story short to share. My parents are visiting Florida from Arizona and have enjoyed hanging out with my small flock each day. When I arrived home from work, my mom conveyed my smallest pullet named "Runt" was picked up by a hawk but dropped because she was too heavy for the hawk to carry.
My husband and parents searched for three hours trying to find her. The moment I came through the door, I started calling for her. Literally, 10 seconds later she chirped at me and I found her hiding in the garage.
She was shaken but sports no blood and was thirsty/famished when I put her back in the coop.
Needless to say, I plan to give the pullets more time to grow before running with the big birds.
