I got 5 Jersey Giant "pullets" but this little one stands really tall, watches us intently, has almost no tail feathers while "its" fellow hatchlings have tails, and is getting a comb while the others have barely anything. Does this look like a JG roo or is it too soon to tell? I could care less either way, I'm sure DH would love it if one of his pullets was actually a roo since bigger is better lol, he's excited to have a turkey sized chicken lol. It is 3-4 weeks old from what I was told. I would like to know asap because we have 3 BR cockerels that are about 14 weeks and don't want to wait too long if one or two need to go in the freezer.

Side view - you can see the size tail compared to one of the others

Comparison to one of the other JG chicks, "he" is on the right, fluffier, legs look bigger too

I think you're right. I've noticed that quite often the roosters I've raised from chicks feather much more slowly, with bigger legs and quicker comb development.

They're cute as a button, by the way!
