Without wanting capons, has anyone raised Jersey Giants for meat?

I just did a batch of hertiage roosters (NHR and Delawares) who took 5 months to reach a reasonable harvest size I hear Jersey Giants are ready at 6 mos. True? Untrue?

Also, DC are Not ready to prcess at 12 weeks, is this correct?

Thanks!

Jen

Jersey giants really arnt that good to raise for meat. Its just that they grow sooo slow I would just stick to buckeyes or other breeds like that.

i have read where Jersey Giants are very slow growers. I can't say for sure how slow....but according to everything I read on them. check out the Jersey Giant thread on BYC and ask some experts or some of the ones that raise that breed.
