JERSEY GIANTS -Good Choice?

Hello Flock! Looking to upgrade my mutt flock (2 hens 1 Roo) and purchase some pedigree birds...Anyone have experience with Jersey Giants? Are they a good choice for a small NY farm? Good layers, low maint. etc?

I love my Jersey Giants! The are very low maint and mellow birds. They lay extra large eggs but are not as good as RIR's for example. They lay an egg every day then take a break for a while then seem to start again. I would say mine are average egg layers.

I have a BJG chick and she is the fiestiest chick we have ever had! I love her to bits, even tho she poops on me every chance she gets.
I know there are other JG owners on here but I can't remember who

My Maggie is the sweetest bird I have. She has a gentle spirit about her, and she lays me a lg. brown rgg daily.

I had the two girls out roaming the living room last night and Prudence was jumping at Brooklyn's face and trying to flog him. It was so funny bc he had this helpless look on his face. Brooks is our (almost) 10 yr old pit bull. I think he was concerned that they might take his ball away from him.
