Are you sure they are Jersey giants and not a look alike? How old are they? Jersey giants also take longer to mature.
Yes, they are jersey giants. They are a year old. And yes I understand that they are a large breed and may take longer but I have seen many under a year jerseys and they are just so much bigger.
Where did you get them? I have found that big hatcheries breeds are not usually up to standards.
We got them from Mury McMury hatchery.
That may be the problem. Might want to check to see if you there are any breeders of jersey giants near you or find someone who could ship you some eggs to incubate.
That’s what I was thinking. But I believe that’s it could be a feed problem. We feed them 30% protein chick starter grower from the first part of their lives and then roll over into layer.
