Joining chicken wire

I'm not sure if it's chicken wire or what, it's called rat wire around here. I asked about the hardware cloth and every place I went to just didn't know what it was. They kept taking me to the rat wire. I need to join two pieces together because it all comes in one height around here. I want it to be very neat looking. Is there a special tool or anything?

Ratwire, that's what we always called it too. You could stitch the two pieces together using bailing wire. It would be strong, and look good if you took your time doing it.
