How high can chicks jump from ages of 2-3 months. Is a 1.5 foot high wall ok or will they get over that in the third month

They'll fly up to that at about 2-3 weeks!

There's no absolute, sure fire, height of fence to contain a chicken...a mesh cover is the best bet.

But not necessarily chick-proof! <sigh> Woke up this morning and went in to check on the chicks. Bird netting was still in place on the top of the brooder and 4 week old Sadie was sitting on top of the netting, surveying her domain. I have one side of the netting held in place with little plastic clamps, and she managed to find the weak spot.

Yep, you're right. Lesson learned here. Seems like the more I THINK I know the less I find I really know!
