Like anything else I do it has to be gunghoe the entire way. I started out with just a few birds. Not going to have a rooster. They are aggressive and mean and no use for them. I have a 2 year old RIR. Not going to have more than 8 chickens. Seventeen birds later. Not going to have ducks. Ten babies peeping around the run and coop. Not going to have anything larger than a chicken. Two large BBW turkeys. Will just buy my chickens. Ordered an incubator today.
Now that I have the thing ordered I am doing a crash course in incubating eggs. I have looked at several of the posts here already.

1. How long can eggs be out before I can no longer use them to hatch?
2. What temps can they be subjected too before they are no good.
3. What is lock down.
4. How many times a day do they have to be turned?
5.How long to hatch?
6. Do all chicken breeds hatch at the same period?

My mixed breed bantams ALWAYS hatch one day ahead of the full size birds. This happens every time even though I set them at the same time in the same incubator.
