I saw an egg storage box on Etsy for almost $200! I loved the look and convenience (because it stores eggs in the order you get them) but there's no way I'd spend that much. Over the weekend, I got together with a friend who has a saw and we made one for me, mainly out of scraps and leftovers. The total cost was probably only about $50! I love my new box...and I'm bragging about it!!!!

@Tortoise I wish! No, you just stick them in the hole at the back and they roll down. Take one from the front and eggs laid later roll forward.

Almost a month in now and I LOVE it!!! Whenever I take an egg I stand and watch the others roll down like it's a new form of chicken-tv. Egg-tv!

where do the eggs go in at? I assume it sits on the counter, if the eggs go in from the back, do you have to move it away from the wall every time you put more eggs in?

There are holes at the back where I can drop in the eggs and the entire thing is about four or five inches from the wall, which gives me space to reach my hand through. For the shoot on the far left, I just lift the top and drop it in. I still put it at the back so it rolls--but that's just for fun!
