Just brought home my first chicks, am I missing anything?

Just brought home 6 barred rocks, I think I am more nervous then when I first brought my kids home from the hospital...lol Got the basics, 50 gallon sterilte tote for a brooder, light, thermometer, food water and pine shaving (flake not fine). They are 5 days old and seem to be doing OK, they found the food and water, though they seem to sleep a lot, but it has only been 2 hours. Anything else I should worry about having for them? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you're all set! I was super nervous with my first batch, but don't worry, they're pretty resilient! In a week or so you should consider a lid (extra window screens work great). You'll be surprised how high they can jump.
