Hi I was out feeding the chickens and ducks this morning and saw three green eggs in the ducks house:weee. Problem is I am not sure when they were layed. We have 10 mallards, 7 hens and 3 drakes. The are about 8 months old. We thought that ducks didnt really lay eggs until spring so this has caught us by surprise. I brought them in the house and layed them on the counter. I was wondering if any BYC'rs knew if we can incubate these eggs since they were exposed to 30 degree temperatures. I made them up some nesting boxes today in case they lay more. Will make it a point to keep checking now that they have layed these three. Any info you all can share would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Well, if these are the first 3 eggs they layed, I would actually crack one and see if it is fertile. If they are fertile, I would start saving them up until I had a small batch and then hatch away! My ducks tend to lay all year long, except when they are moulting are really stressed.
