Hello,
My name is Kathy and I am a new member.
My Grandchildren found 3 abandoned chicks a couple years ago and we built a nice coop and enclosed run for them. I have no idea what breed they are! One turned out to be a rooster so we have allowed the group to grow to 8. They are a wonderful source of entertainment and good little layers.
My question is this; they have ample room in their run area but seem to want to get out. Would it be fair to let them to just let them out occasionally or would that then make them unhappy about being cooped up? I wouldn't mind letting them run around now, but once my vegetable garden goes in I would not want them out there.
