Just for you horse lovers

Gayle
I found that video a few weeks ago on YouTube and must have watched it 200 hundred times. I know I sound like a goober, but that performance makes me cry. She is just so happy and joyful in her performance, you can tell she just loves to do dressage. There is such a connection with her and her rider they just become one and you don't even notice the rider anymore. I also cry because I miss having horses.

PS I have read that people think she's in pain because of her tail swishing. But if you look at her body language, her ears are forward (except to listen to her rider) and almost floppy. I think she is just concentrating so hard and so into the moment, she's swishing her tail right along with the rest of her. It's also in time with the music, so maybe she just loves the song "Lady Marmalade". Who says horses can't love music? LOL

Okay, so do I sound like a horse freak or what!!!

So you still live in Maine?

It's very pretty here. When I was a teen I wanted nothing more then to get out of this state, but now that I'm a Mom, I love the quietness and small towns. And the low crime rate.

Wow, there are a lot of Maine people on here! Usually I'm the only one from Maine on message boards. LOL I love finding other Mainers, nice to meet you too, Merry!!

Angie,
You sound like a horse lover and a person who appreciates a great horse and rider. I too miss my horses but it was just not the same after I lost my husband to cancer. First of all, it was too much work so I sold everything but my husbands colt that he bred specifically for his likes. He liked big stocky quarter horses. Beauford as he so named his beloved colt stood 16-4 and I needed a ladder to get on him. I finally sold him to my trainer and got into raising chihuahuas. I found out that I couldn't sell my babies to just anyone and ended up keeping most of them. So after 3 litters, everyone was FIXED. 13 little furbutts was enough! After loosing my mom in Dec. 06, I got into chickens. I love my chickens and they are so theraputic.

P.S. I noticed her tail swissing too but after watching her, I believe she so enjoys what she is doing that the tail is a happy tail.

dressage is a very demanding sport for both horse and ridder, flying changes, peifs, extended trot, was really in to that when i was a teenager, i think if i work3ed with my 3 year old mustang she would have a hert attack....i just ride her around bare back around our farm
