so i have 4 fertile duck eggs, yesterday i candled and all 4 were kicking about
I also have a remaining 8 quail eggs, 6 hatched 8 left

As soon as I realised the incubator was off i switched it back on immediately

all the eggs were cold to the touch, as in room temp cold

2 from the bunch of quail eggs had pipped but the chicks died

my question is the 4 duck eggs and the remaining quail eggs, have i lost these eggs? its so devastating especially when 6 have hatched hours before the power outage.

A lot of folks have had this happen, myself included, and had no or few issues. One I’d heard went 12 hours and still had most hatch. I think theres hope.

Do you know for about how long it was out?

Sorry about the pipped ones dying. :hugs

well i tell whats happened to the 4 duck eggs until it gets dark tonight, then I have around 8 quail eggs and half of those have hatched, i think if it was too cold the embryos would probably shut off for a few hours and after that the beating heart that circulates the blood would of also shut down after 3 hours

but I wont give up, ill incubate and hope for the best, ive have googled it and there are mixed responses, so lets see what happens tonite

wow, duck eggs are resilient, they want to live, after 6 hours of cold the 4 duck eggs still seem alive, 3 of them seem good, still kicking but one of them seems a little darker than the others and a bit slower,

Unfortunately all of the quail eggs seem inactive I think, though 2 of them have an ever so slight pip, yet when I put the egg to my ear I cant hear anything, the button quail eggs which are literally half the size was pecking away inside the egg like a constant drum beat

The quail eggs are double size so that means its gonna need a few more days of incubation.

Letz see what happens.
