I learned the hard way feeders and waterers need to be hung off the floor high enough they can't poop in them. That means high enough to just allow your smallest birds to get water and feed. All my waterers are heated but I unplug them in warm weather.

Here is a view of my nesting boxes and perches as well as how I hung my feeders.
