:welcome

You certainly have some fun to look forward to! One tip, build the coop & run before you get chickens. And another, build bigger than you think you'll need!

Welcome to BYC. Define your goals, plan, prepare and you will be successful in establishing and maintaining your flock. I agree with @N F C build your coop bigger than you think you will need - chickens are addictive.
:welcome :frow The first time I got some chickens I was totally unprepared. Good thing you are planning for it. I agree make your coop bigger than you think you will need. There is this thing called chicken math. You will get your chicks and have so much fun you will want more so you will need space for your additions. I now have 12 coops. That's chicken math. Good luck and have fun...

When planning also plan for securing you coops and runs. I made that mistake and did loose a couple of birds to predators digging under a fence. I now have electric wire around my coops and pens. Sooner or later the predators will look for a way for a chicken dinner. Not trying to scare you but it's part of owning chickens. Some people have had no issues but many people do eventually. Again good luck and have fun...

Howdy :frow and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.

Happy :ya to have you here with us. Enjoy your time here at BYC!
As a few have suggested, build bigger and more than you think you'll need. Extra pens are always needed, quarantine, hospital pens come in handy!

Thanks for joining our community! :celebrate
