how long did the vets keep him?
usually they keep them til the next day.
our kitty Keebler got neutered earlier this month, we got him home the first thing he did was run striaght for his food bowl and start hollering, after he ate he crashed, out like a light for several hours, then by the evening he was up and running around, getting into things...and he hasn't STOPPED for about 3 weeks
he's been such a pain LOL
make sure he eats! LOL
Sidenote: my friends aunt got one of their tomcats neutered after he got into a BAD fight with another cat wich left the other cat(a stray) dead, and her cat lost half his tail as a result, he was going on 5 years old, after they got him neutered, he stopped eating, they took him back to the vet, no infection or anything, no reason for him not to eat, they they took him home after the vet gave he a precautionary round of anit-biotics, after that the cat layed around for several more days, they took him BACK, still no infections, he wasn't sick, another shot of Anti-biotics.
then they let him go back outside, he perked up some, but got into ANOTHER fight and got his butt handed to him.
so he moped around outside for several weeks and became very skiddish after the losing fight, in the end he ended up dying of starvation, they found him dead under a bush about 2 weeks after letting him go out, he was skin and bones, they never saw him eat, even though they left him his own food, he never touched it.
the only thing they can think of, is that he was literally depressed about being neutered, as funny as they sounds, they said all the females started to ignore him too(he was at one point dominate tom), and they think he just starved himself.
ETA: they did take him BACK to the vet three more times while he was outside, each time the vets said there was absolutely NO reason for him physically to not be eating)
