In the Brooder
I have 2 hens that have been sitting on eggs and they just hatched today. One hen is a great mama and her chicks are all happy and healthy. The other hen laid next to our barn and not in the coop and she has at least 2 dead chicks, 1 weak chick and 2 healthy chicks. The hen is not moving around like the other one and I'm concerned there are more unhealthy chicks under her. Am I supposed to move her and take them all away? If I do will she go to the other hen and harm her chicks? Should I take the healthy chicks from the other hen?
