Just hatched ten minutes ago!!!

I have two Chicken Hens sitting on Mallard duck eggs...they're supposed to hatch out next sunday. Tonight I noticed one of the hens acting funny, went to check on her eggs and one baby had pipped, all but half of the shell was off but the membrane had shrinkwrapped around the baby. I brought it in the house, wrapped it with a wet warm paper towel, tossed some hot water in the incubator and cranked her up. Guess who just joined our world ten minutes ago.....

The other eggs aren't pipped yet.

You said it, especially since they aren't even supposed to hatch until next sunday... Duck eggs always hatch early around here, doesn't matter if they're incubated by a Duck, Chicken or the incubator...blows my mind!
I put 14 Mallard eggs under the hens to hatch for a friend of our's that gave me my 6 Scovie Babies.
