Just laying or settling down in nest?

So during late March my silkie hen laid eggs and she's laid 9 so far. In the past 2 days I saw her sitting in the nest but only during mornings and afternoons. When I went to check on the eggs there were more added to the nest. Is she just laying eggs or is she ready to settle down into the nest? And at around how many eggs will she be able to settle down?

And today she laid the 9th egg. Update: I just went to check on her and she's sitting back on the nest. She's never on the nest at this time. So could it be possible that she's settling down? By the way I live in Australia so my time zone would be different
