Well, since my new flock of coturnix have been crowing for a few days, I decided to do a little flock maintenance - wing trimming and sexing.
Might as well do both at the same time!
In a flock of 5 birds, I have 3 definitely roos, 1 definitely hen, and 1 confusing bird which is probably just a lateblooming roo...
Just one, single, lonely, hen... with (probably) 4 roos bugging her.
I guess I'll be having quail dinner sooner than I thought.
I'm going to need to hatch some eggs if I want to be getting any eggs for eating, I think.
...not that that's a bad thing!
