Just need to vent about my pet sitter...

Were you paying the sitter? I find most people don't do a very good job if there's no incentive, although you'd think someone who lives with you wouldn't want to tick you off. If you did pay them I'd be inclined to ask for some money back. Dog s*** in the house and more than a days worth of frozen eggs? Not cool.

I have my coop set up so that I can leave for 3-4 days at a time. If we're gone for longer than I can generally get a coworker to stay at my house. I leave a list of things that *must* be done every day, and a list of things they can do if they want too.

 Great tune!

@PirateGirl OoooooEEE! I'd have been totally ticked !!!
And you have to live with this person?
That would make it all the harder to deal with.

Yes, we haven't had this roommate very long and did not know him well prior to him moving in, didn't have a roommate at all for a few years, but thought it might help with some expenses... I'm still not sure if we'll have someone else move in after he moves out... we'll see how it goes I suppose.

Yes he was being paid. We didn't discuss an exact amount prior to the trip, and I have not paid him yet, so I'm second guessing how much I want to pay him... The weather did make things difficult, however he could have called and asked what to do, I feel like no problem solving went into things at all. Also he mentioned he might have a friend let the dogs out if he had to work late or something, but that clearly didn't happen... I don't know. It was at least 4 days of frozen eggs, which is unfortunate because the girls are just picking up laying again, but I'll feed them all back to the flock and the dogs, so they won't go to waste. Also I live with 2 other adults, I like to think that if I'm not home for some reason one of them can make sure that the trash makes it to the curb and some snow gets shoveled when needed... ugh.
