I am very excited for my order to arrive from My Pet Chicken.com on the week of April 19th! here it is:
1 black sumatra, 1 white crested black polish, 1 white crested blue polish, 2 ee's, one appenzeller spitzhauben, one golden laced wyandotte, 1 golden campine, 1 white cochin, 1 buff O, and 1 dominique. All female.

I already have 2 red star roosters, 2 red star hens, 2 bantams and 1 white leghorn hen.

I hope these breeds will get along well together... does anyone own a mix of any of these breeds? I am looking forward to having a VERY colorful flock.

Congratulations! I ordered from MPC and I'm very pleased. I love wyandottes and orpingtons, Good luck! Integrating flocks is always a challenge.

I don't have any of those breeds but I have 2 DL, 1 EE, 1 FV, 1 buttercup, 2 Silkie's, 2 Frizzles, 1BR, 1 unknown LOL! They all seem to get along fine and two are roo's, my roo's seem to pick on my smaller chickens to breed with them but that has been my only issue. I slowly added mine and let them socialize before having them stay the night in the coop with the others. At first they will find a pecking order but after that they should be the best of friends. Enjoy your colorful flock I do!

I suggest you really keep an eye on those Polish with the Sumatra present. My Sumatra can get pretty fiesty when one of my Polish is in the way and when they were being integrated into my flock, at only a young few months old, she gave alot of my top hats a big problem. I understand that you probably want this chick, but if you want well feathered Polish, I'd think again. Take it from someone who's dealing with this same problem. In a few months when she's not so cute anymore and your chicks are fighting to establish the pecking order, you might find this was a mistake. I love my Gypsy, but she's a scamp and a handful. If I'd had really thought about it, I might have decided against getting her. Live and learn, right?

However, none of the others strike me as a huge problem. Polish can be tough to manage, though they are very friendly. Don't let them out of your sight. They require good flock management.

Thank you for the warning... I will watch the sumatra. If she becomes too much of a problem i may rehome her.. unfortunately the order is already put in, I am hoping if she gets TOO feisty my roos could keep her in line.
