Just ordered by chicks!

Made a little more progress on the coop on Saturday and decided to go ahead and place my order. I went with this option https://www.cacklehatchery.com/rainbow-assorted-females-special.html through Cackle Hatchery. I called them a while back with some questions and they were very helpful. As such, I figured it would be worth a phone call to see if they'd add a particular breed, or two, to their selection of chicks at the time of shipment. Much to my surprise they were more than happy to make a note to include:

1. A green egg layer
2. Speckled sussex
3. Welsummer

Anyway, they were more than accommodating and their availability calendar says all three should be available at time of shipment! Come on March 31!

These will be my first chickens ever, so no I have not. They have been really helpful and I haven't found anything negative about them online. We'll see!

They have a ton of youtube videos that are pretty neat. Lots of footage of particular breeds, their breeding stock, etc.

I can't wait to get my little critters under that heat lamp and peeping away in my garage!
