Just put down my hen

My sweet 8 year old New Hampshire Red has been battling a bad case of sour crop. This morning, she was so bad that she had to be put down. My 3rd one to die in a little over a year. Why do they always have to die at once?

So sorry for your loss. It's always difficult to lose an animal we're attached to. It sounds like she had a long, good life with you.

So sorry for your loss. I've lost at least 5 this year, so sad (one old age, 3 to hawks and 1 to a murdering, rapist turkey). Hard to understand why things happen like they do sometimes.
