Today is the first day that I am allowing them out of the pen unsupervised all day. I usually let them out from 7- dark everyday but I have decided to let them start coming and going as they please. In the spring I bought about 60 chicks yes I went overboard. My Plan is to expand our run so that they are all accommodated and there is plenty of room for them all. They are not full grown yet but a couple are starting to lay now. My current run is 20 by 15 and I have a coop that is 8 by 6 ( The coop is for egg laying only and they sleep on their roost sin the run) (I live in Florida) my plans are to double the run and possible add another 8 by 6 coop, They seem to be doing fine now but there is just an overcrowding issue so I decided to let them free range until I can gather the funds to add on to the run. What do yall think about my plan? I will post pics of my coop/run in a few.
