Just starting out...

I'm considering getting some ducks for eggs and a few for brooding. I've never had ducks before and would love any help any one can give. I was looking at getting about 12 Khaki Campbells or Welsh Harlequins. I know they are not a good mothering types. Does anyone know what duck would be a good choice for hatching some of the my Khaki or Harlequin eggs?

I've had VERY good luck with my black and blue swedish ducks going broody and raising up a nice batch of ducklings. I think you'd have to wait until the duck was at least one, and then have it hang out with a man duck for a while.. then it might want to sit on other eggs.

welsh are known for being broody also magpies and i had best luck with mutts really
