Just thought I'd share some of my poetry

[Lothiriel]

I've written a couple poems lately and I thought it would be nice to share with all these wonderful BYC friends of mine.

Green Frog

Green frog croaks
And it jumps
In the stream
By the oaks.

Gray fish glides
Through the stream
Sunlight shines
On its side.

Dragonfly
Darts by me.
As I sit
I see sky.

Sparrow sings
In the tree
Then sails by
On small wings.

Cool breeze sighs
Among leaves.
Cloud drifts by
In clear skies.

All the sky
And the land -
Teeming peace,
Gently sigh.

Adam's Song

Everything is still.
I lie here, not moving.
Then it comes.

I live.
I breathe the air.
I feel life
Rushing quickly thru my veins.

It suddenly stops.
I don’t know what to do.
A Voice speaks.

“Get up.
Stand on your feet.
You’re alive.
You have My breath in your blood.”

The Voice is awful.
It commands obedience.
I obey.

I stand.
My eyes open.
I see God.
He is present, here with me.

He says He made me,
From the dust of the earth.
I’m alive.

He smiles.
He takes my hand.
He tells me
I am His – always will be.

Thanks! That one was just "random impulse." LOL It was fun to write it - my first free verse poem.

(I feel kinda proud of myself...

)

Actually, the first one with some illustrations would make a great children's book. I could actually see the pictures as I read it. You have a gift with words!

I would have said the voice is awesome... But other than that, very cool!

I like that idea too, but I'm not a very good artist unless I'm really into the mood for it.
